Someone once told me that our choices are the only things that we own. At the time, it did not make much sense or maybe I just did not know what to do with it. Now that I think of it, choice is in truth, the only thing that one can say is personal to man. An element of God-given freewill, our choices are the only things that can truly be stated to be ours which makes it such a powerful yet almost intangible aspect of human life.

But when you think of it, choices do really make us, and depending on its repercussions, tend to define us for the longest time. So it makes sense that while your mistakes do not define you, the choices that birthed them define you more. While amends can be made for mistakes over time, mistakes are almost indelible in themselves as they cannot be blotted out.

Our choices also make or mar not just us both those around us as well. So on this good Monday, consider the choices you make as they would define the rest of your week, month, year and most importantly the rest of your life. More importantly consider the impact of those decisions on those around you both remotely and immediately. Well thought out decisions and choices would give you a conviction and sense of purpose that would be almost impervious to distraction or detractors.
