Talent and skill are often misunderstood by many people. Some talented people erroneously believe they will get to the top on account of their talent alone and many people who have potential for success consider themselves ‘talentless’  and have admitted defeat even before they try. What is talent and what makes it different from skill? Talent is a special natural ability or aptitude. It is the natural ability that you are born with to do something without having to think so much about it. Skill, on the other hand, is the ability to do something well that is a result of knowledge, practice, and aptitude. Before you acquire skill, you have to put in a lot of hard work. If you are talented, you need to use it consistently and improve on it; else you will remain a talented mediocre. However, if you don’t have talent for a particular thing or you are not talented enough, worry not; you can make an effort to learn or develop a skill, believe in yourself and the sky will be your limit. To develop your skill you will require: manual dexterity or special training as well as long hours improving your craft and before long, you will have the competence and experience to compete with the best. All you need to do is: keep your goal in sight and fight towards it.   Watch the video below and get more enlightened on talent, skill, belief and how you can harness them to succeed:           About the Writer: Chris Bamidele is a passionate and unapologetic Nigerian, who believes in God and humanity.
