Importance
The GDPR is an EU-led Initiative geared towards the protecting the personally identifiable information of an EU subject; it discusses how individuals’ personal data can be stored as contained in the legislation.
The regulation will be effective from the 25th of May, 2018 and alter transformation data protection practices across the European Union.
This is important for organizations in Nigeria because organizations, which operate within the EU borders or are at places where European member state law applies by virtue of public international law, will need to comply with GDPR.
