Nigerian Celebrities to Play Football for a Cause

Ever wondered what Naeto C looks like in a football jersey? Do you want to see The Chairman, MI, score a goal live? Will Seyi Law make a good goalkeeper? You have the chance to satisfy your curiosity and more as young Nigerian celebrities, artistes and  on-air-personalities will take to the pitch at the University of Lagos to support the less privileged through education at a Celebrity Charity match tagged “Football For A Cause’ organized by the StayInSchoolng Initiative in conjunction with Nokia and Trace TV. These stars are slated to play in the novelty match that would pitch them against each other on Sunday, the 13th of October, 2013. Nigerian entertainment icons such as MI, Naeto C, Mr Raw, Kaycee, Owen Gee, Yaw, Nedu, Seyi Law, Manny, Senator, Shaydee, Skales, Elenu, Buchi amongst others will make time out from their busy schedules in a bid to raise money to put hundreds of children in school. Thrilling the crowd with performances will be 2Shortz, Illblyss, Phyno and MI, while Yaw, Adams of Sound City, Mc Bonus and Adeyinka The 1st will be on hand to run commentary as the game progresses. This event will see a fine blend of football, entertainment and philanthropy, as the StayInSchoolng Initiative hopes to raise money to place more disadvantaged kids in school with an aim of bridging the evident gap in the country’s education sector. Earlier this year the project enrolled 75 children into 8 primary schools providing them with uniforms, stationeries and lunch daily. Tickets for the event are available for N1,000 and N5,000 at www.ariiyatickets.com, www.naijaticketshop.com, Ozone cinemas, Genesis Deluxe Cinemas and Silverbird Galleria. Further details on the match and the project can be found on www.stayinschoolng.org, @stayinschoolng and on facebook.
