How many times have you looked at someone and wished you had their beauty, body shape or eyes? Or how many times have you wished that your legs were more straight, or that acne didn’t leave those pesky black dots on your face? Loving ourselves just the way we have been created can be a difficult process, which is even more difficult for people with disabilities. It is very easy to curse your luck, blame God for creating you with a disadvantage, or blame any and everything for your situation. What happens when you decide to be positive and not let your disability stop you from achieving great things? You build a spirit that is not limited by obstacles. That is the story of Nick Vujicic. He was born without arms and legs, and as expected, growing up has been a challenge for him. Because of his disability, Nick never saw a future for himself, and he tried committing suicide at the age of ten. He has also had to deal with episodes of depression. Now, Nick is a motivational speaker who is married and runs his own business. He shares his story in 44 different countries, motivating people to be thankful for their lives. This video is a motivational speech given by Nick, for anyone who constantly feels like they got a bad deal in life, anyone who finds it difficult to appreciate themselves, or anyone who is struggling despite all odds. Hear Nick’s story, and be motivated to be grateful for your life, and rise above the obstacles. As Nick said, “We all make mistakes, but none of us are mistakes”     About the author: Amina Salau is a writer and editor running The Illuminated Pen.
