An architect is always concerned about little lines, those tiny dots that move from one place to another. If one line should go missing or placed in the wrong direction, he erases his drawing or corrects the shape. This shows that a little line can make or mar a good drawing. So also in life, those little details that get lost in our memories can make or mar our existence. It can turn a victim to a victor, an assailant to an innocent. The aspect of our lives we are sure does not matter can be draining holes of opportunities. Small stuff matters a lot even without our knowing. One of such thing may be your smile. While working on your attitude, develop and sharpen your smile. Focus on your smile rather than on your worries.  Other little things that you can do to make your day even better are:
  • Amuse Yourself: You must stay fresh and energized with amusement each day. This is a hard task as it hard to amuse yourself when the pressures of life come at you, but you have to find a way. watch funny videos, read jokes, watch a comedy, just make sure you laugh.
  • Fitness Power:  I am not talking about the health benefits, hell no, I am interested only in your attitude. Fact is if you’re fit you feel better about yourself which adds to your resilience (especially important in tough times) and is indirectly transmitted to others.  So take out time and visit a gym, work out, jog, and exercise, do anything to make you feel better about yourself.
  • Involve yourself in Mental Gymnastics:  This is in simple terms, exercising your mind. Read, listen to podcasts messages, anything to stretch out your mind. Readers, they say are better leaders. Take out time, read a book a week, fill yourself with information. Both your mind and body must be fit and stretched.
  • You are Your Story, work on it: Few things are more important than moving mountains, one of such is telling stories. Think of yourself in a few years’ time, imagine what you want your story to look like, and work on it. A story can always have “twists and turns” so don’t be afraid to try out a new thing. He/she who has the most compelling stories wins at the end of the day. You must be an emergent and compelling story, and you must mainly communicate through stories to kindle change. Your current project is an unfolding story about making something better, exciting users, etc. Make your story count.
In conclusion, Seth Godin says:
“If you can’t describe your position in eight words or less, you don’t have a position”.
Simply put, make your life simple because little stuff at the end of the day is all that matters, don’t complicate your life.
