We’re excited about the brand new contactless payment cards launched by the United Bank for Africa recently. This is the first time the innovative product is being introduced to Nigerians, with UBA setting the pace for other banks to follow. The card looks like your average cash payment card, its only difference being the Near Field Communication (NFC) technology feature included. It can be used with automated teller machines, point of sale terminals and for online transactions. The NFC-enabled card’s benefits vary, including increased security and speed in payments. “With our contactless cards, you can make payments for everyday essentials and other things that money can buy the contactless way,” cites UBA on its official website. So how exactly do these cards work? Follow these quick, easy steps: Step-1-contactless-cards Ensure that the POS or ATM terminal is NFC-enabled and accepts contactless cards.   steps-2-contactless-cards Hold the contactless card against the P.O.S.   step-3-contactless-cards You will be prompted to enter your PIN.   step-4-contactless-cards Your transaction will be approved and you’ll be good to go.   Visit the official UBA website for more information.
