Africa Fashion Week Nigeria kicks off this weekend, and we’re extremely excited to see what its featured designers have in store for us. While we wait, let’s get to meet the masterminds behind the creations; the young fashion designers with a flair for styling the average Nigerian:   Mbana House of Styles Ann Idongesit Akpan is the CEO and Founder of Mbana House of Styles. She’s a graduate of Law from Akwa Ibom State with a passion for fashion. Her love for design started from her early years and has grown into something spectacular that creates state-of-the-art pieces for men, women and children. Mbana specializes in the design of Western and African clothes.   House of Linen This concession boutique houses African wears from upcoming and established designers. It is described as the first of its kind in Eastern Nigeria, and helps to style the savvy shopper who sees herself as a modern, trendy African fashionista.   Eminence 1129 The label was founded by Olamide Olawale in 2009, a graduate of Design from Yaba College and Technology. It features urban styled outfits for men and women, both young and old. It recently showcased its work at L’Alliance Francais.   Elawe Elawe is a haute couture label which was founded by  Elohor Sigbenu. The young designer began her career right from university, with creations for her friends and family. Years later, she is designing for women of all ages and class, with elements of savviness and elegance included in the creation process.   Doughyeen Doughyeen is an eight-year-old fashion label with unique, trendy designs for the Nigerian woman. It was founded by Adesoji Adedoyin, a graduate of the Yaba College of Technology. She confesses to fashion being her creative outlet, and being inspired by everyone and everything when working.   Source: Africa Fashion Week Nigeria
