In the age when people are being body-shammed on the account of their size, facial look, skin colour, height and general body feature, having a positive body image cannot be overestimated. In this article, I pointed out six steps to positive body image.
  1. Celebrate Your That Body Can Do

Celebrating your body is the beginning of positive body image, especially when you are aware of their functions and special abilities. Appreciating the fact that your body can dance, run, breath, laugh, imagine, singing etc, can make you appreciate your body in a positive way.
  1. List Top 10 Things You Like About Yourself

Aside from your physical features which do not truly define you, what are those qualities you admire about yourself? Your brilliance, your artistic sense, your entrepreneurial acumen, your oratory, your uncommon bravery, your empathy, your athletic skill etc, truly define who you are and decide how far you go in life. These are the most important things that you must treasure.
  1. See Yourself As A Whole And Not A Part

Seeing yourself or defining yourself as a part rather than a whole can be dangerous. Do not let a body part define you or a singular body structure define your whole self. See yourself as complete – a full human being worthy to be treated as such.

  1. Shut Off Negative Voices

Do not condone negative voices that tell you, you’re not good enough or you’re ugly, a bad person, unqualified, undeserving, unworthy etc. These voices may be in your head or echoed by people around you. Don’t condone it, fire back, rebuke and reaffirm how good, beautiful and worthy you are.
  1. Wear What Gives You Confidence

Most often we are attracted to several brands, styles, designs, colours, etc when it comes to apparel or clothing. Some people feel great in suits while others feel cool when they dress like pop stars. Whatever garment you choose, make sure you’re happy within it.
  1. Treat Yourself Nice

Treating yourself nice is a form of self-love. When you learn to forgive yourself easily no matter your errors, you’re sure to build a positive body image.
  1. Respect Others
