Tourism is one of the factors that boost economic growth globally. A brilliant mind has taken laws into her hand to break these barriers to tourism in Nigeria and see that the industry flourishes. She is no other person than Chiamaka Obuekwe.
How Social Prefect Was Born
Chiamaka, who is fondly called ‘social prefect’ – a nick-name given to her at work because of her friendly nature – has always loved to go on outings since she was little. Her love for outings was so intense that it made her parents impose many curfews on her. This love for outings was fueled by the several school excursions she embarked on as a young girl and it would later lead her into a career in tourism. After realizing that there was a vacuum to be filled in the Nigerian tourism industry, Chiamaka left her nine to five job and ventured into full-time tourism.
A Platform To Explore Africa
Chiamaka started Social Prefect Tours in 2015 to educate people (both locals and foreigners) about the beautiful sites and attractions in Nigeria and to organize trips for her blog readers. Using Instagramas a tool, Chiamaka attracts more and more readers interested in joining her tours. She curates trips to various venues in an entertaining and fun manner and pens down the experiences on her blog. She also posts on upcoming tours organized by Social Prefect Tours. These tours usually go for affordable prices.
Social Prefect Tours organizes tours within and outside the borders of Nigeria. It plans to spread its tentacles all over Africa with the goal of becoming the number one tour brand in the continent. Presently, it has organized tours to countries like Ghana, Togo, and Benin Republic.
