True success comes from daring a dream many others think is impossible to achieve. Treasures Bayode Olawunmi has proven this as he has finally broken Guinness World Record in the Longest Marathon Reading Aloud category by reading for 120 hours, a total of 5 days. In his own words, he did it for the culture, which he ascribed as the reading culture that is fast diminishing in Nigeria. Among those present were hundreds of school children, authors, like Toni Kan, a medical team set up by the Lagos State government, popular media houses like Channels Television, and Lagos State Television. Also present at the event  were Mr. Obafela Bank-Olemoh, the distinguished Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Education, the officials of the Lagos State Library Board, and Babajimi Benson, the Federal House of Representative, Ikorodu Bayode started the reading marathon at about 1:30 pm on Monday, February 26, 2018, by reading Toni Kan’s The Carnivorous City. At exactly 3: 30 pm on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at YouRead library, Yaba, he completed 120 hours of reading, with thousands of encouragements from across the nation.
