Victor Moses
Victor Moses completed a season-long loan to Liverpool from Chelsea after finding first team action hard to come by this season. The winger was unveiled alongside Tiago Ilori (who is eligible to play for the Super Eagles through his Nigerian father) and Mahamdou Sakho who joined from Sporting Lisbon and Paris Saint Germain respectively. Osaze Peter Odemwingie was finally given the go-ahead to leave West Brom. He joined the Premier League newcomers, Cardiff City on a £2.5m deal. He became the second striker to join the club this summer after Andreas Cornelius, who joined from FC Copenhagen. Victor Anichebe swapped Goodison Park for The Hawthorns for £3m, replacing his countryman, Osaze at the club. Anichebe has spent all his career at Everton but found himself on the fringes of the team after Roberto Martinez became the manager of the side. Benin Republic striker, Stephane Sessegnon also joined the club from Sunderland, bringing the total number of recognized strikers in the Albion squad to six: Nicolas Anelka, Marcus Rosenberg, Matej Vdyra, Victor Anichebe, Stephane Sessegnon and Saido Berahino.

Mesut Ozil, Arsenal’s new addition
Arsenal made the biggest coup on the deadline day by capturing Turkish-born German playmaker, Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid for a club record £42m. The diminutive ace had made up to 87 assists in three years for Real Madrid but felt he wasn’t loved at the Spanish capital. Goalkeeper, Emiliano Viviano also joined from Palermo on a season long loan. Manchester United finally got their man, Marouane Fellaini who joined from Everton for £27.5m. They also failed in a late bid to get Real Madrid left back, Fabio Contreao on a season long loan. Nick Powell joined Wigan Athletic on a season long loan. Everton didn’t waste time in spending the money they got from United, splashing out £13m on Wigan Athletic midfielder, James McCarthy. Gareth Barry and Romelu Lukaku also joined on long term loan deals from Manchester City and Chelsea respectively. Aston Villa sold outcasts, Stephen Ireland and Barry Bannan to Stoke City and Crystal Palace respectively. The midlands club also signed striker, Libor Kozak for £5m from Italian club, Lazio. Stoke City also signed Marko Arnautovic from Weder Bremen and sent out Kieran Kightly, Cameron Jerome and Ryan Shotton. Southampton and Tottenham Hotspurs sent out Zambian striker Emmanuel Mayuka and Camerounian defender, Benoit Assou-Ekotto to Sochaux and Queens Park Rangers on season long loan deals respectively. Tottenham Hotspurs also loaned promising young midfielder, Tom Carroll to Harry Redknapp’s QPR to gain some first-team experience.
