Every morning, millions of people across Nigeria wake up to face the working day. Many of them don’t exactly jump out of bed with a sense of excitement for what the day holds or what they could achieve in it; they have a feeling that their work life is little more than a dissatisfying, even troubling part of their existence. They wish they could find something they’re passionate about and make a living, rather than wallow in the drudgery and dreadfulness of the jobs they’re currently engaged in. But they don’t know how to get to the place of fulfillment.

Business growth strategist Tale Alimi knows what it feels like to wander through career paths in search of the right occupation. In her book, Uplevel, she draws on her experience to provide a practical guide for those who want to find their life’s calling and shows that it is possible to make a living from one’s entrepreneurial passion.

On her reason for writing the book, Tale says: ‘In working with people, I realized that they were also asking questions like “What am I here for?”, “How do I find my own niche?”…and I began to say, why don’t I write a book to answer this question?’ She describes Uplevel as a ‘call to action for us to live up to our potential.’

The 21 chapter book has a lot in it for people who want to find their own niche and profit from it, and contains, among other things, advice on how people can build their personal brand and profit from their passion. In the book, Tale makes reference to her own journey, and to those of others who have built successful ventures after struggling to find their own space, and encourages her readers to learn from them.

Uplevel also contains guidelines for entrepreneurs about telling brand stories that capture the public’s attention, and about how to make loyal fans of their customers.
