The newly appointed MD/CEO of Siemens Nigeria Ltd, Mrs. Onyeche Tifase, who is a Mara Mentor, has said that Project Management could be of great value to business owners, as many Nigerians are embracing entrepreneurial culture, with a large number of them having appropriate knowledge and methods, while others are trying to still have a grasp of it. According to her, experts suggest that businesses should be run like long term projects with proper planning to control the malaise of businesses failure. Tifase, who is the first female CEO of Siemens Nigeria, said since businesses share similar attributes with projects, acquiring project management skills will be of great value to the business owner in the long run. Explaining the relationship between project management and business lately on the Mara Mentor Talk Show, Mrs Tifase said: “businesses could be classified as projects, thus by acquiring requisite skills and planning with industry-specific knowledge, entrepreneurs can overcome the challenges of building sustainable businesses in Nigeria.” She concentrated on leadership in business with particular interest in young entrepreneurs. Encouraging young Nigerian entrepreneurs, Mrs. Tifase said “entrepreneurs should always seek to add value to customers and employees.” “Leadership style is what differentiates between a business thriving, sinking, or soaring,” she added, highlighting various leadership styles and the implication of effective implementation on profit, work culture, organisational and individual goals. Tifase also encouraged young entrepreneurs to be more focused in assessing market trends and competitors, identifying a peculiar value proposition with direct focus on customer education, and communication of brand values, even before commencing business.

  • its all good steps in rigth direction-making the world a better place but getting it rigth to the true people who deserves it is the big question.-i have a print media business which i ve shown to mrs tifase but is she willing to act?thats my point
