It is with a heavy heart that we bring you this news. Renowned Nollywood Actor, Justus Esiri, has been reported to have died. He is said to have passed on in the late hours of Tuesday, February 19th. Asides from being well into his years, we are yet to be provided details regarding the cause of his death.
Justus Esiri was a very popular face on Nigerian television. He was arguably amongst the creme de la creme of veteran nollywood actors. He began his acting career on a stage in Germany, and it was whilst showcasing his prowess that he was invited by a delegation from Nigeria to perform in a government sponsored program. He fell in love with his country and remained there, and his name finally made headway in the African movie industry when he played ‘headmaster’ in the popular African TV series, The Village Headmaster. He died at 70. We sympathize with Dr. Sid (Onoriode Esiri) on the passing of his father.
