1. As part of efforts to promote home ownership through the National Housing Fund (NHF) the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN)  has promised to  deliver 500 housing units to Abia State civil servants within six months. 2. Mansard Insurance Plc is funding Post Graduate Training Programme in General Urology at the University Teaching Hospital (UCH) Ibadan. The programme, an initiative of the Pan-African Urological Surgeons Association for Urological, is an annual training course being funded by the underwriting firm on an annual basis. 3. Globacom has said that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) it recently signed with Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agencies of Nigeria (SMEDAN) is expected to empower over 17 million registered SMEs in the country. 4. Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has disclosed readiness to lift embargo on Estate Development Loan (EDL) subject to commitment on timeliness by developers. Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has invested N80billion ($400million) to set up a cement plant in Kenya through East Africa Portland Cement Company (EAPCC). Dangote entered Kitui County’s limestone mines through the Kenya’s local cement in order to open $400 million, representing Sh34.8 billion Kenyan currency in Kitui County, Kenya. 7. As part of its ef­fort to boost lo­cal content in the upstream sector, Skye Bank Plc has fi­nanced acquisition of a multipurpose sup­port marine vessel by Marine Platforms Limited for offshore support services to the oil & gas compa­nies. 8. The Federal Government has announced that it has entered into a partnership with an indigenous firm, One Nation Energy Limited, to generate 500 megawatts of electricity from coal. 9. MasterCard and Grooming Centre have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will see electronic payment solutions extended to 500,000 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in peri-urban and rural parts of Nigeria. 10. Davebrook Digital PR Services, last Friday  in Lagos announced the unveiling of Nigeria’s first online newsroom services, a digital platform designed to connect businesses in Nigeria with national and global publicity opportunities.
