1. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it has so far recorded 88 per cent level of distribution of the Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) in Yobe State. 2. Nigerian-born Chioma Ubogagu has joined Arsenal Ladies from US team, Stanford University . The 2012 FIFA Women U-20 World Cup winner for the USA played 89 times for the US team, scored 27 goals with 37 assists which places her fourth on Stanford’s list of all time assists. 3. The Federal Airports Authority of (FAAN) said it is working hard to reposition the country’s airports in terms of service delivery to enable them compete with others in Africa. 4. In a bid to reduce Nigeria’s 17 million housing deficit, the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) yesterday gave an  indication that embargo on Estate Development Loan (EDL) may soon be lifted. 5. The Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria, APBN has called on government to accelerate the industrialisation of Nigeria by providing the conducive atmosphere. The Association made the call at a press briefing shortly after its first quarterly board meeting held in Lagos saying “It is time for this country to be known for its own manufactured product(s). The elected government should put in place conducive environment for investors to establish industries and at the same time encourage all the big industries that left Nigeria for other West African countries to come back to the country.” 6. President Goodluck Jonathan has given approval for the rebuilding of Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State. Jonathan spoke through the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on Thursday when she visited the Chibok community in Kuje, Abuja, as part of the outreach for the Safe Schools Initiative to provide education to children who are out of school as a result of the insurgency particularly in the North-eastern part of the country. 7. The Federal Government and a consortium led by First Gate Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, to build two Nos 1,000MW gas fired and solar plants, with a project life of four to five years. 8. The Anambra State Government and Bukham Group, a firm of real estate developers, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop 20,000 units of shops at the Anambra International TradeCentre, Oba, near Onitsha. 9. The privatisation of the  transport sector will soon begin, Director-General, Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Mr. Benjamin Dikki, has said. In a statement in Abuja, the bureau’s Acting Head, Public Communications, Mr. Alex Okoh, said the process would begin as soon as the necessary legal and regulatory frameworks were put in place. 10. The Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC, has said that it is set to launch a corporate governance scorecard for listed companies in the Nigerian capital market in line with its goal of boosting investors’ confidence and deepening corporate governance practices in Nigeria.
