1. Google has announced the launching of an online portal where voters can keep an eye on the latest news about Nigerian politics nearing the time of the general elections in February. 2. The United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has introduced the mobile Point of Sale (mPOS) terminals to support customers’ e-banking transactions. UBA said it recently went live with the initiative in partnership mPOS partners across Africa. 3. The federal government has signed an agreement with American firm, Missouri American Energy, for the construction of a 250-megawatt (MW) power plant in Nigeria. Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo said the government was optimistic about the quick completion of the project due to its relatively small capacity. 4. President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has approved the appointment of Ms Abimbola Alale as the Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) LTD). 5. Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation (OPIC) has proposed the sum of N5.637 billion as its total expenditure for housing development in the state in 2015, with N5.2 billion committed to capital projects. 6. Globacom Limited has upgraded its ongoing Glo Overload promotion from 200 to 400 per cent bonus airtime for every recharge of N200 and above under its repackaged version, tagged Glo Overload Reloaded. 7. The Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS) has presented the first draft of its findings to key stakeholders at a consultative round table held in Abuja recently. The report noted that both the Federal and the States Ministry of Education and the National University Commission should guide secondary schools and tertiary institutions to upgrade their ICT curriculum and courses to include a wide range of cloud computing services and technology and also build the capacity of teachers. 8. According to the Group Executive Director, Gas and Power, of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. David Ige, the full implementation of the gas master plan may position Nigeria as the largest producer of fertilizer in Africa by 2018. 9.The Bank of Industry (BoI) has pledged its willingness to collaborate with the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), to promote indigenous technology in Nigeria. 10. First Bank of Nigeria Limited has partnered Tristate Cardiovascular Institute to provide financial assistance to cardiac patients of the institute. The beneficiaries, the lender said,  are unable to afford the cost of Cardiovascular heart surgery they need to stay alive.
