The date for the cinema release of the much anticipated Yvonne Chaka Chaka Nollywood debut movie has been moved to 25th May 2018, as confirmed by reliable sources. The movie; JJC (“Jonny Just Come”), which was earlier announced to hit cinemas on the 16th of March, 2018 is directed by AMVCA 2017 award-winning filmmaker Elvis Chuks and has South African music legend and multi-award winning musician, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, among its cast. For those who are too young to know, Chaka Chaka’s songs Thank You Mr. DJ, I’m Burning Up and Umqombothi (“African Beer”) were the rave of the moment in the late 80s and 90s. Her songs, humanitarian efforts and activism have won her international recognition and numerous awards including: the BET awards, WEF Crystal award, Top 100 Most Influential Women in the World and 8th Most Powerful African. Chaka Chaka has also performed for Queen Elizabeth II and former American president Bill Clinton.

Plot & Actors

The side-splitting comedy movie is about Murphy, an American bachelor whose search for love brings him to Africa. His naivety is laid bare as he is faced with several challenges resulting from his new marriage. Other stars in the movie are Emmy award-winning actress Thuso Mbedu; Vusi Kunene; Joey Rasdien; Thado Thabete; Patience Ozokwor “Mama G” and Nancy Isime.
