A one-day training workshop on software application and development for Nigerian students in higher institutions of learning has been hosted in Lagos by Microsoft (Africa). At the training programme held at University of Lagos (UNILAG), Microsoft Developer and Platform Evangelism Lead, Shina Oyetosho, said the idea behind the workshop is to help young Africans, many of whom are students, to develop their potentials especially in technological innovation. “The whole idea is about innovation and unlocking African potentials. ‘Microsoft is concerned about Africa’s future and we all know that the future are the youth. The youths are mostly found here as students. So we thought of picking up with students. And in doing this, we have three services we are offering them and these include innovation, access and world class taste.” Oyetosho said. Oyetosho added that through a series of innovative competitions such as 9jApps, Youthpack, Imagine Cup, among others introduced by Microsoft, they have helped many Nigerians to unlock potentials and move to greater things.
