The compelling romance film, scheduled for release on the 25th of January 2019, also has in its cast list Joke Silva, Saidi Balogun, Ngozi Nwosu, Kiki Omeili, and Cool FM’s Mannie among others. The film is about the length to which a couple can go in order to keep their marriage, as two lovers go against their parents wish to get married and start a family. They show a dogged determination to weather whatever storm comes as a consequence of their daring decision. It also explores themes like domestic violence, inter-tribal marriage, betrayal and trust. The film is directed by Ekene Som Mekwunye whose film, ‘Oblivious’, was the Best Short Film winner at the 2015 African Magic Viewers Choice Awards, AMVCA and was also nominated in various categories at the Africa Movies Academy Awards (AMAA), and Africa International Films Festival (AFRIFF). He says:
“The film would show the effects of domestic violence, what it does to women and more importantly, how best victims can handle it. The film also shows a little of the friction in inter-tribal marriages and the way men look at the issue in such marriages. This film would be a tool to draw awareness of this scourge to a lot of ladies in Africa and as well as look at how it affects families when it happens to married women.” ―Ekene Som Mekwunye
