This is where employee training comes in. Sometimes, it seems a bit daunting to carry out this training as employers might not know the most effective methods to use. The employees themselves might just not be cut out for it, as they see training as boring and unproductive. However, there is a way out. In this article are effective methods you can engage to train your staff members and ensure productivity.
  • Classroom Learning

As the name posits, this method is likened to the classroom experience. There are instructors who lead the staff in the training. They have training manuals which they present in the course of the training. This method is usually effective for complex discussions. There might be serious clarifications that need to be made in terms of service delivery and job responsibilities. The organization would need to utilize this method, as it will give room for real-time questions and answers.
  • E-learning

As opposed to classroom learning, this method employs the online space. Here, training courses are delivered via videos, infographics and texts. E-learning reduces the training cost to a large extent and makes it easier for employees to access the courses via their smartphones and laptops. It is definitely a kind of training that can be done on the go. You can spice it up with interactive games, quizzes and other activities that will keep the employees attentive to the training.
  • Coaching

This is a one-on-one kind of training. Here, the employees get to interact personally with trained professionals who will guide them through the process. These professionals are often hired by the company to coach the employees. Hence, they tend to build a relationship with them. Other times, they could even be coached by their employer. This method can be extremely effective, as employees get to grasp the whole idea more easily.

  • Hands-On Training

Hands-on training can also be referred to as experiential learning. It is an intensive method of employee training. The employees get trained right on the job. However, they ought to have basic or reasonable knowledge of what they are being trained on. This works best for technical positions and on-site duties, which can only be taught on the job.
  • Group Discussions

Another effective employee training method is group discussions. This occurs when staff members interact with each other, especially on projects that require collaborative efforts. These discussions are usually led by trained personnel who serves as the facilitator. The difference between this method and others that require an instructor is that here, the facilitator does not do all the talking. The employees reason together and collectively figure out solutions to given tasks. Simply put, they learn from each other.
  • Role Playing

Typically, role-playing implies that an employee who is required to assume a higher or different position will start acting in that role prior to his new appointment. In that case, the employee gets hands-on knowledge of what the role is all about. It is high time employers maximized the different employee training methods to ensure their staff members are brushed up on their responsibilities. This will enable them to perform better and drive more growth for the organization. Featured Image Source: Industry Training
