Here’s a fact – if you’ve lived in a busy city like Lagos for over a week, you’re probably accustomed to the issue of traffic jams, especially with fuel scarcity plagues like the one we’re currently facing. In fact, when roads and highways are free on a work day, it seems eerily different, and we can’t help but wonder where everyone is and if there’s news in town we’re not aware of. Being stuck in a traffic jam can be a boring nightmare, but believe it or not, there are many fun things to do while waiting in your vehicle. With a dose of ingenuity and determination, you’re guaranteed to have a good time, happily passing the time away. Next time you’re stuck in a traffic jam, try these out and see which works for you:   1. Listen to an audiobook: It’s tough finishing a book from cover to cover these days due to our busy schedules, but thanks to the nifty invention that is the audiobook, there’s hope for us knowledge addicts. These books usually come in CD or MP3 format and cover a wide range of genres. If what’s going on around you is getting you worked up, play a hilarious comedy to blow off some unwanted steam. 2. Join radio conversations: Fortunately, we have on air personalities to keep us company if we’re all alone in a bad traffic jam. Their musings on trends can be quite entertaining, and you’re always free to call in to join the conversation. If there’s a radio contest on, that’s even better, as you stand a chance of winning a great prize. 3. Socialize: Try striking a conversation with the driver in the next car or fellow passengers. Yes, this option is a bit daring, we’ll admit, but you never know what great friendships or career opportunities await you if you don’t take the risk. Simply start off with a friendly smile, possibly comment on the jam issue as an icebreaker and see where your discussion leads. 4. Talk to God: Now, the mad morning dash is no longer an excuse for not praying every day, thanks to our daily traffic jams – quite a silver lining, isn’t it? When next you’re all alone in your car, take time out to say a prayer or two. You’ll even get the bonus of added peace in the process.   Did we leave anything out?
