Many people in Nigeria assume that their skin are relatively unaffected by the things that go into their mouth. This is sad because nutrition is largely important to our skin. Fruits are paramount aspects of daily nutrition. Diet can help contribute to the overall health of our African skin. It is therefore advisable to eat right. Here is a list of fruits good for our African skin with the minerals they contain:

Fruits with Vitamin D:

While a bit of sunlight is advised for our skin, we all can’t go around spreading ourselves in sun rays, not with Nigeria type of sun. Consuming fruits with vitamin D allows us to receive the daily dosage we need. Watermelon, pears, star fruits, grapes, guavas, oranges, pineapples, apples, limes, kiwifruit, avocados, tangerines, bananas, strawberries, are fruits in these categories.

Fruits that contains Vitamin A:

They are important to dermatology. Vitamin A compound has a close connection with the skin. It is stored in the liver and released to the body as needed. Vitamin A works on the skin cell itself and are primarily beneficial. If you notice your skin is feeling scaly and dry, it may be a lack of this vitamin. Specifically, vitamin A derivatives are thought to control cells that might otherwise turn cancerous. Check out these fruits; pawpaw, carrots, watermelon, tomatoes, guava, mango, pumpkins, among others.

Fruits with Vitamin C:

Vitamin C stimulates the production of collagen, a protein that makes your skin look young, fresh and supple. Pawpaw, black currants, grapefruit, mango, pineapple, strawberries, oranges, guava, kiwifruit and many more are found  in this category.

Fruits with Vitamin E:

They also act as an antioxidants, like vitamin c. It is a vitamin that protects you from ultra violet sun rays, just like your SPF. Vitamin E helps you prevent dark spots and wrinkles as it shields the skin. Avocado, blackberries, blueberries, guava, kiwi, pawpaw, raspberries are very good sources of vitamin E.

Fruits that has Vitamin K:

Vitamin K is essential in aiding the body’s process of blood clothing which helps the body heal wounds, bruises and areas affected by surgery. They include: Avocado, blackberries, grapes, kiwi, mango, pear, plum, blueberries and tomatoes.

Zinc:

A large amount of zinc will aid in hair growth and skin rejuvenation. Fruits that contain the mineral are dates, blackberries, avocado, raspberries

Water:

While there is no correlation between drinking water or spraying water on your skin, drinking water prevents dehydration and this helps you keep up a healthy living, and of course a healthy living does equate to a healthy skin.
