Kola Karim, Chinedu Echeruo and Simdul Shagaya – three of the top powerful people in Africa
Investment, wealth and lifestyle magazine, Forbes, has named three young Nigerians in its 2014 10 most powerful men in Africa. Tech entrepreneur and founder of Konga.com and DealDey.com, Simdul Shagaya; Chinedu Echeruo, founder of Hopstop.com and Tripology.com, and Kola Karim, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Shoreline Energy International made the list. Others include Tanzania’s Deputy Minister of Communication, Science & Technology and Member of Parliament January Makamba; Uganda’s Ashish Thakkar, Founder and Managing Director of Mara Group, Mara Foundation and Mara Online; Cameroon’s Mamadou Toure, Founder and Executive Director of Africa 2.0. Senegal’s Amadou Mahtar Ba, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the African Media Initiative; Zimbabwe’s Ben Magara and Chief Executive Officer and Director of Lonmin; late Ghanaian  Lead Presenter on “Focus On Africa” and BBC World News’ European morning segment Komla Dumor; and Tanzania’s Mohammed Dewji, Group Chief Executive Officer of Mohammed Enterprises Tanzania Limited also made the list.
