Entertainment and You

The Nigerian Entertainment industry has functioned as a tool in poverty alleviation and generated employment. A research by DM research shows that Nigerian Entertainment Industry would grow above $8 billion dollars by 2019. It is important to note that great investment opportunities are in existence today because of our entertainment industry. While many cast stones at the industry, it is of great benefit to take stocks of the role of entertainment in the Nigerian society. Everyone has an iota of entertainment that keeps them glued to their seats. Things grab our attention very easily. It is in human nature to be curious about that thing that everyone else is attracted to. Entertainment is that thing that holds the attention and interest of an audience. In keeping people’s attention, it gives them pleasure or delight. A day at the movies, your hands on your headset, are ways of you channelled to the industry. You don’t get to be so stiff and serious all the time. Those who do not enjoy watching movies, are either watching sports, or reading a book. Even watching the drama of bus conductors is entertainment itself. Entertainment is becoming essential due to the accumulated stress we face. A distraction from our daily hustle and bustle is very necessary. Imagine a life where you spend all day in monotony. Repeating the same routine over time gets really boring. There are many ways of having entertainment. You do not have to break the bank to get yourself entertained. Keep a healthy hobby that keeps you fit and you have fun while at it. Get board games and play with the family. Ludo, monopoly, chess, cards games are inexpensive. Gist. Very simple just hang around with friends and talk about everything and nothing. Listen to radio. While most feel this is outdated. Radio stations are online. You can never get bored with the channels. Get your playlist. Get songs, inspirational messages on your playlist and just listen to them. You would value the time you spent doing so. Go to the Beach. Just the feel of sand on your back, the sound of the beating water waves, staring at the sun set or letting the water flow to your feet is another way to relax. Party! Yeah, let’s go there! In all remember that the Nigerian Entertainment Industry has been ingrained in our society right from our forefathers. If you do not believe me, ask your grandparents and you’ll learn just how they had enjoyed grooving big time.
