These starlets were nominated in the ‘Favourite African Social Media Star’ category alongside social media magician Wiam Van den Berg (South Africa), sensational youth dance group Ghetto Kids (Uganda), Elsa Majimbo (Kenya), and media personality Bonang Matheba (South Africa). In spite of the star-studded lineup, the Mark Angel comedy star, Emmanuella, emerged the winner in this category even ahead of Ikorodu Bois who have been invited to the Extraction 2 movie premiere and made several headlines since their burst to prominence.

In 2018, Emmanuella was nominated in the Favourite African Star category alongside Davido but both lost the award to Ugandan singer, Eddy Kenzo. However, she has won an award on her comeback and will be hoping to clinch more awards, in the years to come. Ikorodu Bois who have received Hollywood recognition and recommendation over the past one year after mimicking top Hollywood movies and music videos such as Extraction, Money Heist, Roddy Rich’s ‘The Box’ and were also gifted equipment by Netflix, will have to try again and hopefully, they’ll win.
