Eguavoen lamented:
“I hate to say it was a problem, but we want to inject discipline. Something went wrong and we have to fix that.”
President of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick had cited indiscipline in the squad as a major reason behind the sack of German tactician Gernot Rohr, but the gaffer described Pinnick’s comments as ‘ridiculous.’ However, Eguaveon appears to have sided with the federation president as Nigeria looks to compete for a fourth continental title in Cameroon. Also, Eguaveon noted that there will be few changes to the current Super Eagles team, insisting that he will continue with players that Rohr worked with.

the 1994 AFCON winner said.
“Our players aren’t as bad as some of the results may have appeared.’’
