  • Choose a Romantic location

What is romance for you? Define it. Then choose a place that embodies it. You can sign up for a hotel’s valentine’s package that comes with a pre-decorated room. If you can, pay a gift company like The Gift Fairy or Surprise world to help transform your home into a mind-blowing haven with a custom gift selection. Do you find a bookshop romantic? You can choose one with fantastic décor and a comfortable reading area to chill in. If you prefer a beach, you can get cushions and a cloth to place on the ground, along with your wine and drinks. Or choose a gazebo and add your finishing touches to it.
  • Dress to Impress

If it is a night of fine dining, imagine you were going on a date with royalty, then dress appropriately. Keep in mind that some restaurants won’t let you in if you don’t look a certain way. E.g. The View Rooftop Bar. If you are going to the beach, you can wear soft flowing beachwear with a hat for the ladies. For the guys, you can wear a love sleeve shirt with the top three buttons open and nice shorts. How you look adds to the romantic feel you are trying to create. Let your appearance and look communicate your romantic feelings. It must not be a red outfit. Just wear what makes you feel your best and add a smile to it.

  • Plan activities for Two

Whether it is a table-for-two fine dining experience or a jet-skiing adventure, make it private. If you are adventurous, rock climbing together, playing under a waterfall, or would suffice. If adventure isn’t your thing, you can plan a visit to an art gallery such as Nike Art Gallery or a drama presentation at Muson Center for just the two of you. The less the crowd, the better. The feeling of intimacy makes certain activities feel romantic.
  • Sleepover essentials

Okay, what no one tells you is that some hotels charge extra for using their supplies. E.g. shampoo and bubble bath, the sachet of milo/coffee and milk in the rooms, etc. So carry your own bathing soap, towel, toothpaste, snacks, or breakfast items. That way, if the hotel supplies are insufficient or not to your standard, you won’t be stranded.
  • Focus on What is Important

Romance is all about sharing feelings of love with someone you hold dear. Don’t let the fanfare of the season make you forget that. While Valentine’s Day is a great day to express love, it is not the only opportunity you have to do so. Every other day of the year is available for the same purpose. Not everyone can afford Valentine’s Day getaway. If this is you, focus on making the one you love feel special by doing something unique to them. If you can afford the getaway, make out time to connect emotionally with your partner. What’s the fun of being in a romantic beach resort and being mentally absent? It ruins the mood if your lover is constantly on the phone, not paying attention to you. Get rid of all distractions. Plan to enjoy each other’s company. We hope these tips help to put you at ease for your valentine’s getaway. If you know more tips, we’d love to hear them. Featured Image Source: Kuulpeeps
