The year 2009 came to an end with reminiscences of the happenings from the beginning of the year till present, especially as it concerns the marital lifes of some celebrities in the society. For instance, the year witnessed new additions to some families through the marriage of their children.
While some were going to the altar, to exchange marital vows to live ever after, some found their way to courts to dissolve their celebrated marriages or had simply walked out of it outright. In this piece, QuestionMarkMag.com unveiled some of the celebrities crashed unions.
MONALISA CHINDA AND SEGUN DEJO RICHARDS
The top of the list is the Sultry actress, Monalisa chinda’s once envied marriage to Segun Dejo Richards, There were claims of been battered by Deji and Deji countered with claims of Monalisa been influenced by colleagues. a relationship started with Deji travelling to UK just to ask Monalisa to be his wife and later on he doubled as her Manager but their union fell apart on the heels of her new gotten fame as a Globacom ambassadors. FEMI ADEBAYO AND KHADIJAT
Funke Akindele was on the centre of this crash. KOJO WILLIAMS AND REMI
The 15 year old marriage of former NFA boss, Anthony Kojo Williams to his wife, Remilekun hit the rocks due to incompatibility on the account of their contrasting personalities. While Kojo is a man whose social lifestyle makes him a sought after celebrity, his wife who is Orodentist is however conservative and unassuming would explain their divorce but they remain friends for the sake of their children.
EUCHARIA ANNUNOBI AND CHARLES EKWU
Bold actress, Eucharia Annunobi filed a divorce suit against her ‘run away’ husband; The actress also claimed that he caught her husband on their matrimonial bed with her househelp. Charles allegedly disappeared from his matrimonial home without giving any hint as to his location but He later appeared in court and on his first day on trial he was fined 50,000 Naira. He allegedly paid 5,000 Naira on the spot and the case has since been adjourned to the 3rd of February 2010.
JENIFER ELIOGU AND HUSBAND
Jenifer Eliogu’s marriage crashed months after she delivered her second son where she lost her husband to a Swiss woman and their apartment at lekki. The 5-years-Old marriage produced two kids who now live ain the Ikeja metropolis after her husband who is an international businessman purportedly moved to Switzerland finally to be with his Swiss wife.
BODE GEORGE AND KAINE DOSEKUN
Dr Kaine Dosekun left Bode George just before he was convicted on account of the fraudulent activities that he masterminded during his time as the Chairman of the Nigerian ports Authority. She left on the reasons of her inability to play second fiddle after she lost out as Bode george’s favourite when his romance with Roli Adeniyi began. FESTUS KEYAMO AND ISIOMA IRENE
It was a surprise and the surprise doubled when Isioma demanded 20 million naira alimony. Isoma filed for divorce
on the ground of Festus’ neglect to his responsibility to their children. All of her claims has since been refuted by Keyamo, who’s claiming incompatibility, as the reason for their troubled marriage, while asking his wife for a bill of the coat of maintaining the kids.
HILDA DOKUBO AND KARO MBRAKPO
The speculations are that they have both accused each other of infidelity and Karo Mbrakpo leaving the matrimonial home that was built by actress turned commissioner during ex-Gov. Odili’s tenure – Hilda and now resides in a hotel. Karo, who was initially based in Lagos, was alleged to have been filled with tales of his wife’s activities in Port Harcourt, one which he could no longer handle and Hilda returned the accusations that eventually ended the union.
SOUL E AND QUEEN URE
That which would not be wrong to be described as hilarious would be the union between young Emmauel Okose and Queen Ure. Singer, Soul – E’s marriage to his older wife and bank executive, Queen Ure crashed in the midst of the press attention. Soul E claimed that they were never married in the first place as he insists that they never exchanged vows in a church or never visited a registry. She also claimed of having Soul E feeding off her but he denied it – describing whatever happened between them as sharing. He reportedly broke up with her because he felt caged and Ure said financial problems added to their breakup. The breakup left in charge of the the church that started together alone..
