BBM Voice and Channels for Android and iPhone Released

An update for the BlackBerry Messenger app on Android and iPhone platforms has been released with new features. This new update brings with it, among other features, support for BBM Voice and BBM Channels on Android and iOS. Voice and Channels were previously exclusive to BBM on BlackBerry devices. BBM Voice allows users to send voice messages to other BBM contacts for free while BBM Channels is BBM’s take on social networking, which is integrated into the app. With the new update, Android devices and iPhones will be able to make BBM voice calls over both Wi-Fi and mobile data connections. Additional features in the update includes one-click file and photo sharing, time-limited location sharing with Glympse and Dropbox integration for sending large files to contacts and over 100 new emoticons.
