The GEEP is a project resulting from a partnership between the US Environmental Protection Agency, the Environmental Protection Administration, and the North American Association for Environmental Education. The Youth Innovation Challenge is organized in collaboration with Taiwan Ocean Conservation Association. Applicants for the Youth Innovation Challenge should pitch solutions that address issues in climate change, marine litter, or both. About 15 finalists will be selected from the pool of entrants and will be recognized at the GEEP’s 2021 Asia Pacific Virtual EE Forum November 30-December 2.

Benefits

Finalists and winners of the challenge stand to benefit from it in the following ways:
  • Finalists will receive an official YIC finalist certificate.
  • They will get recognized on the online publications and social media pages of GEEP and the competition’s other partner organizations.
  • Their solution will get more exposure at the GEEP’s 2021 Asia Pacific Virtual EE Forum, which will be attended by various environmental education leaders and influencers.
  • Three winners will be selected from the 15 finalists and will each receive the grand prize of $1,000.
