Yaw Wazobia FM’s On-air Personality Steve Onu is set to hit the entertainment scene with a new sitcom. The sitcom, ‘Yaws and Myn’ will premiere at Silverbird Cinemas, VI, today at 5pm, and admission is strictly by invitation. The sitcom would be featuring actors Steve Onu (Yaw), Stanley “FunnyBone” Chibunna, Lilian Esoro, Ngozi Nwosu, Tina Mba, Ufuoma Ejenobor. Not only is Steve Onu an actor, he was also the first and only radio Personality/Comedian chosen to be an Olympic Torch bearer for the London 2012 Olympics. He is a United Nations Young Ambassador for Peace and the UN Face of Peace (2012). ‘Yaws and Myn’ is a 30-minute long weekly series about a young radio presenter who is suddenly left with the responsibility of taking care of his siblings, Raluchukwu and Chetachukwu. Ral is a raucous boy who wrongly believes he is blessed with the talent of singing and Cheta is his sister who cannot cook to save her life. Thrown into the mix is their weird tenant who they lease one of their rooms to, their grandmother who speaks only the Igbo language, their Hausa gateman (a retired soldier) and a troublesome aunt, guaranteeing viewers unending drama and laughter. Yaws n Myn intends to show on VOX Africa, DSTV, Oh TV(UK), Nollywood Films (UK), Klear TV (UK), The African Channel TV (UK), STV, LTV8 and SABC South Africa, and would begin airing on January 2013.
