English Premier League Shola Ameobi and Newcastle United were bamboozled by Manchester City, who was looking to respond positively after their derby loss to Manchester United last week. Sergio Aguero and Javi Garcia gave the visitors a first half lead before Demba Ba pulled one back. Mercurial captain, Yaya Toure put the icing on the cake. Victor Anichebe missed yet another Everton because of an injury as they were held to a 1-all draw by Stoke City. The game was marred by Marouane Fellaini’s head butt on Stoke City captain, Ryan Shawcross in the 58th minute. Fellaini is expected to be banned for three matches even though the referee, Mark Halsey missed the incident. Nedum Onuoha and Queens Park Rangers got their first win of the season in 17 attempts. Moroccan, Adel Taarabt was the star of the show, scoring a brace as QPR beat Fulham 2-1. Osaze Odemiwigie’s West Bromwich Albion have gone from 5 consecutive wins to 5 consecutive games losses after they settled for a stalemate with West Ham United at The Hawthorns. In other Football news, Mikel Obi and Victor Moses missed the opportunity to become the first Nigerians to lift the Club World Championship as Chelsea FC lost to Brazilian side, FC Corinthians. Former Bayern Munich and Hamburg striker, Jose Paolo Guerrero scored the only goal of the game. The Peruvian struck in the second half as his team held on for the historic win.
