Most people who read will tell you that handling the pages of a book when reading is part of the pleasure of reading but others who don’t fancy reading at all look out for other options where they can find information hidden in books. What we all know for a fact is that the reading culture in Nigeria is a serious issue that demands and requires urgent attention. Lagos based technology startup, Talkingbookz saw this dire need in the society and created a platform where Nigerians can have access to information in books through a generally and nationally appreciated medium – speaking. We believe Talkingbookz’ train of thought went thus: Everyone loves talking so why can’t we create a platform where Nigerians can get books that would speak out the information hidden in it to them? Now with Talkingbookz, we can have access to books and we don’t have to go through the rigour of reading, which is a pleasure for some. Talkingbookz launched on 2015 World Book Day at the Mobile West Africa conference. Talkingbookz, Nigeria’s first audiobook store online store and publisher has presently over 3,000 audio books  in  10 categories ranging from Religion, Fiction, Memoirs/Biographies, Business, Management, Self-help, Children Literature, Health&Wellness made available for customers on the site to buy and download. The startup and its idea is seen as promising at home and overseas as it has been selected as 1 of the 1000 most promising startups in Africa by the Tony Elumelu Foundation and seed capital as initial investment from Co-Founder/MD Jovago.com, Marek Zmyslowski. It has also been selected as one of the 30 African startups that would pitch at DEMO Africa 2015 To buy an audio book from Talkingbookz, click here talkingbookz.com For more information, email info@talkingbookz.com or call +2348038329323
