ConnectNigeria_Victor_Moses_2672913b Victor Moses became one of the most sought after wingers in the EPL after an incredible performance for Wigan Athletic in the 2011/2012 season. This prompted Chelsea to sign him for the new season, but below par performance coupled with unsuccessful loan spells put his career in decline. Moses began his career in the championship with Crystal Palace, before his performances caught the eye of Wigan Athletic, where he made his Premier League debut in 2010. After two years, his game had improved to the extent that European champions Chelsea were interested. Despite 10 goals in all competitions during his first season, he spent his second season on loan to Liverpool. Born in Nigeria, he represented England at under-16, under-17, under-19 and under-21 levels, but opted to play for Nigeria as opposed to being fully capped for England. He has gained over 20 caps for Nigeria since his debut in 2012, and played in their winning campaign at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, as well as the 2014 FIFA World Cup. With his latest loan move to Stoke City, Moses will be attempting to rebuild his club career this season under the tutelage of Mark Hughes. “It was a disappointing time but to be honest I would rather move forward and not dwell on what happened in the past with Liverpool,” the 23-year old said. “All I want to concentrate on now is doing well here at Stoke City, and getting back to enjoying my football again. “It is difficult to get back to your best when you aren’t really playing much football, so hopefully I can earn myself a place in the team here and enjoy it again. “I will give 100 percent in training and I will do the same in matches too. I like to score goals and help create opportunities so hopefully I can play my part here.” He added, “There were other options available to me, but as soon as I spoke to the manager and he told me of the club’s ambitions, I knew it was the move I wanted to make.” This comes at a very tricky period of his career following a deep in form for Liverpool last season and for Nigeria at the last World Cup. It warms the heart to know that at Stoke City he will have more playing time than last season given his experience coupled with the fact that his profile is much more superior to those of most of the players they parade.
