  Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) is a Nigerian-based non-governmental organization formed in 2002 by 14 individuals to be the voice for women in careers and businesses. In addition, the organization was established to create a platform for women to interact and address gender inequalities in the workplace and businesses and assist them in managing these challenges. WIMBIZ offers a variety of programmes throughout the year, which are focused on developing the leadership capacity of women and building value added business relationships. They are currently seeking to engage dynamic, passionate, result oriented and self-motivated individual to fill up the position of a Fundraiser/Programme Officer in the organization. The individual hired for this position will be responsible for developing, building and maintaining relationships with potential partners and funders for the organisation’s operations. Job Description:
  • Conceive, develop and implement fund-raising strategies for the organization
  • Identify potential partnerships with organizations/institutions
  • Research available local and international funding opportunities
  • Review RFPs and draft proposals to potential partners and donors for fundraising purposes
  • Generate increased income for WIMBIZ programmes and events from existing sources or relationships
  • Maintain and expand the WIMBIZ network in the gender empowerment & development and business community
  • Identify opportunities for WIMBIZ Associates in business and careers (private & public)
  • Identify development opportunities for staff
  • Research relevant information to support the work of Programmes Department
  • Support the implementation of WIMBIZ programmes and activities
  • Support the Executive Director to achieve organisational goals
Qualification/ Requirements
  • University degree in international relations, political science, business or public administration or related discipline. A Master’s Degree any of these fields will be an advantage
  • At least 5 years’ experience working for a national/international NGO or development agency in fundraising, public information, diplomacy and/or external relations
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English, with good drafting and editing skills
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering fundraising strategies
  • Proven fundraising skills in at least one of the areas of major donor, regular giving or legacy fundraising, with the ability to achieve financial targets
  • Excellent planning, management and organisational skills
  • Ability to plan, balance and cope with competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • High standard of numeracy and budgeting skills
  • High standard of computer competency and literacy
  • A self starter
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of diverse backgrounds, culture and nationalities;
