UCV is determined to be your one-stop shop for your fashion accessories needs, bringing you the latest accessories in the fashion world and ensuring you look like a UberChic Diva. Connect Nigeria recently spoke with the owner of UberChic Ville, Jasmine T. Olanihun. makethumb (26) She started out UberChic Ville as a hobby during her University days, selling fashion accessories to friends and family. She continued, “Upon getting gainful employment, I realized it was becoming harder to go around showing friends what new items I had as well as getting new customers. This frustration eventually led to the creation of the blog where we originally started selling from, which has now evolved to a full sized e-commerce platform. Officially, UberChic Ville became registered in 2012.” makethumb (52) She explained that the name UberChic Ville was an inspiration for the love of all things “Chic”. “Uber” came from the German word for “Super”. She added, “Our vision at UberChic Ville‘s is to make it a place where ladies can get all sorts of glamorous baubles, jewelry and fashion accessory at an affordable price to whatever destination.” FHHS99128GDFSH On the products and services they offer, she explained, “We’re primarily a retail outlet for every woman’s fashion accessory needs. Over time, we discovered women from all over the country desire chic and eclectic pieces to accentuate their outfits without over stretching their finances. We aim to provide an easy and convenient way to get couture fashion accessories without going over the budget. We also provide consultancy services for clients who find it challenging to piece together the right outfit or are looking for the perfect accessory to make a statement with. In addition, we offer wholesale services to interested clients who are more often than not outside the Lagos metropolis. Our gift vouchers have also helped our male customers give the perfect gift to their friends and family allowing the recipients the opportunity to make the choices for themselves. makethumb (18) For Jasmine T. Olanihun, challenges came mostly in the form of spreading the word about the brand as an online store. She said, “You find a lot of people still want the traditional mode of shopping by walking into a store. A great challenge is also the lack of trust for online transactions. You find customers who absolutely adore your products but don’t have enough trust that the transaction is legitimate or their financial details are safe.” AFKS0175BNGRY On UberChic Ville’s unique selling point, she explained, “We painstakingly source hard to find pieces of fashion accessories from all over the world and stock an enviable array of varieties. Our varieties are from bridal pieces to sunglasses and wristwatches. We offer nationwide and international delivery to interested clients. Our pieces can be seen on models at fashion runways and celebrities on the red carpet events. These encourage our customers that they are in line with the recent trend and not stocking up pieces from some years ago.” 450x450 “UberChic Ville is here for the long haul,” she says; “Our long term vision for ÜberChic Ville is to be the foremost destination for the classy woman’s couture needs. We aim to continue to stock sparkling baubles and delightful pieces for the everyday woman and have a deluxe range for the more luxurious woman. In a few weeks, our bespoke and custom made line will go live; this line will be tailored more for the African woman. Our presence is being recognized internationally, and we intend to fully explore the opportunities therein. AFOS0648RDPUR Her final words for the aspiring fashion accessories’ entrepreneur is this: “Love what you do! There are times that things will look bleak and mundane, it’s the passion and love for what you do that will keep you going and create a path for you.” AFKS1118GDCRM   Contact via Uberchic Ville or 08181773187 www.uberchicville.com
