On October 1, 2017, a lot of Nigerians were excited about the arrival of TSTV (pay as you view subscription) than they possibly were about the country’s independence. The air was rented with cheers at the launching ceremony of  Nigerian innovative Pay Operator. TSTV, owned by Telcom Satellites Limited,  is a platform that promises to air over 100 TV channels, which are expected to grow over time, to provide unbeatable innovation for the audience’s consumption with irresistible local and foreign content. TSTV is to provide HD and SD video quality with internet surfing at affordable prices alongside premium video experience. Watching Television is still a leisure activity that most people devote much of their time to, across the developed world. However, many satellites and local television channels limit viewers favourite shows. TSTV is, therefore, likely to attract specific people such as those that already know what they want to watch and can use TSTV to immediately get to that content because with Tstv, you get to pay only for the content you hope to watch per time. Yet, with the anticipation of Nigerians, especially with the buzz from social media that followed its arrival, the response from TSTV has not been as productive as expected. After a visit to the sites listed distribution centers, only a few have started sales, while others promise a future date against the timeline of November 1, 2017, as was promised. There are indications, however, that the recently launched satellite television TSTV might have started operation, as a picture of football was shown through it. The below picture questions TSTV acquisition of rights to broadcast in Nigeria.  Moreover, according to Daily Post, TSTV Africa has finally commenced full operational services and sales of its products to members of the public. This confirmation was made by the MD/CEO of TSTV Africa, Bright Echefu. This assurance was communicated by the Head, Corporate Communications, Madu Ugo, who promised customers that they would get the value for their money. He stated that they have started the distribution and installation of TStv Africa Promo (free of cost) decoders across the country. He commented that the painstaking exercise is to ensure that there are proper monitoring and calculation of the signal, channel and program’s quality across the nation. Also, there is the accreditation of selected dealers and branding of the dealers’ outlets across the country in order to achieve uniformity and evenness in the sales of the decoder nationwide.
