One mistake most people make when planning a romantic getaway is that they depend too much on the vacation plan. Some people feel because they paid for a room that comes with a chilled bottle of champagne by the bedside with rose petals all over the room, their work is done.

Being romantic is more than that. Sure, paying for a honeymoon package can make your vacation romantic. But there are things you can do to keep the feeling of romance longer than an instance. Such as
Keep your devices on mute and disconnect from the world. You can spoil the romantic atmosphere when you keep checking your online chats or status update. Even responding by email to office work can spoil the romantic mood. Also, the more secluded the location, the better. If you are in a place where people can easily drop by or visit, their company will distract you. Make sure the time spent on the getaway amplifies your focus on your partner while tuning out distractions.
You can bring a collection of pictures to look through together to remind you guys of special memories. Or play music from your dating days that held so much meaning for you guys.

If you are a movie buff, you can watch a genre of movie you guys enjoyed together back in the day, complete with popcorn and soft drinks. The plan is to try recreating a moment where you both felt the
romance.

Speak in Each Other’s Love Language
There is nothing more painful than spending tons of money on a romantic gesture and your partner does not appreciate it. Knowing each other’s love language (and particular dialect) can enhance the feeling of romance on the trip. If your partner likes gifts, present a gift during the getaway. If your partner likes acts of service, you can offer a foot massage. Or you could help with the packing and unpacking of luggage when you arrive at the hotel. If your partner likes words of affirmation, tell them something that means a lot that you haven’t told them before. If they like physical touch, find every opportunity to hold hands, hug or cuddle, and give a kiss on the cheek or forehead. Ensure you are spending quality time with them during the trip if quality time is their love language.

Engage in Romantic activities
Nothing binds more than a shared experience. Engaging in romantic activities together could do just that for you. Splurge on a spa experience during your getaway. Hold each other tight on a quad bike ride.

Take a cable car ride and enjoy the view together. You could go on a lovers’ boat cruise, or partake in a desert safari. The list is endless, really. The best way to strengthen your relationship is by doing something new together.
Maximize the time away to create romantic memories. Like strolling around the airport during a layover, whisper sweet nothings in each other’s ears while travelling to your destination and cuddling while waiting for your hotel mix-up to be sorted out. You don’t have to wait till you get to your final destination for the romance to kick in. It is not only during valentine your partner deserves to feel special. Turn your getaway into an opportunity for romance.
