There are so many smart people in the country that a lot of us do not know about. we focus on the international tech superstars like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg without understanding that we have the likes of them here. we decided to show you the top 10 tech guru’s in the country to enlighten us all.
The list is as follows in no particular order.
Born 32 years ago is one of Nigeria’s greatest young minds, Chief Creative Officer of his sole owned Noah69 Company, and also owns an online advertising service based in Lagos by the name Bloovue. Though he studied medicine, he finds himself knee deep in the IT sector. He is also one of the National winners of the 2007 International Young Design Entrepreneur Award. As seen on his about me on Statmyweb he says “In a former life, I was a medical doctor. In this one, I’m an entrepreneur based in Africa working in technology, design & branding.”
He is the Chief Technology Officer / Co-Founder at Next2, Mobile Application Program Manager at storySpaces.org, Consultant at Zada Nigeria Limited, CEO/Senior Application Developer at Vikantti Nigeria Limited and to add to the list; former General Manager (West Africa) at OpenLink Software, former Chief Technology Officer at Nigeria Exchange, Consultant at Infoweb Nigeria Limited Software Engineer at Soft Solutions Limited as seen on linkedIn. That’s a lot to behold. He also possesses a lot of experience in Web 2.x and various programming languages and was among the top 10 Most Influential People in Nigeria.
As he wrote on his profile “I am a Igbo-Kung Fu Samurai Warrior Geek” and he has really proven to be one. He is the Founder of iROKOtv.com – I would say a localized version of the Netflix. Irokotv.com recently got funding from Tiger global worth $8million. He is also the Founder of iROKING.com, a music streaming service and IROKO Partners. He Had his tertiary education at the University of Manchester but he’s a true Nigerian who is making us proud.
He is the Founder and Chief Editor at TechLoy and also Co-Founder at Sowambe. He also holds positions at Technology Times and Memeburn as Columnist and Contributor respectively. He has also worked at Timbuktu Media Ltd, ConnectNgeria.com and Crexia Consulting. Loy Okezie has a background in Business Development and Strategy. He was appointed as a Web 2.0 industry expert at ITNewsAfrica.com in 2008. He also has milestones to his name.
Gbenga studied Electronics and Electrical Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University and has also received training from notable institutions which includes Oxford, Harvard and Santa Clara Universities to mention but a few. He was appointed Nigeria’s first Information Technology Youth Ambassador in October 2001. He is someone who has strong beliefs in the Potentials that Information and Communications Technology hold in Nigeria. He has been consulted widely for numerous organizations, including Harvard University, Microsoft, Res Publica, Freedom House, International Telecommunications Union, Heinrich Boll Foundation and United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA). He is the Executive Director of Paradigm Initiative Nigeria and was the pioneer Program Manager of Lagos Digital Village, a multi-stakeholder tele-center project that provides training, research and mentorship opportunities for underserved youth in Nigeria.
He is the Co-Founder of MoMo Nigeria, buynownow and dudumobile, he had his tertiary education at Obafemi Awolowo University and also trained at the Lagos Business School and Project Management College. He was former head of Business Development at the Hedonmark Group, ex-Team lead at duduPAY limited and ex-Product Development manager at MTech Communications PLC.
