The 38 year old, Tiwatope Savage, joined Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records label as the first female signing in 2012, released her first studio recorded song “Once Upon a Time” in July 2013, and has since then had at least 39 award nominations, 15 awards won, endorsement deals with MTN Nigeria, Konga, Forte Oil, Maggi, P & G Nigeria and Pepsi to mention a few. She co-wrote Collard Greens & Cornbread, a song off American singer, Fantasia’s, Grammy-nominated album titled “Back to Me”, and has contracts with Sony/ATV Music Publishing, ROC Nation and 323 Entertainment. The African act category, was introduced into the MTV EMA in 2005 with 2baba being its first winner.
