One peculiar thing a brochure does for you is to help you tell your story. Not everything about your business can be published on your website. Your social media feed is also not enough to tell your entire brand story. This is why a company brochure is needed. It can be seen as a smaller version of your brand book. Even if you don’t have a brand book, it is important that you get a brochure.

To get started, you will need some basic content, this includes your company logo, tagline, vision and mission statements. So, if you have not created these things yet, it is a good opportunity for you to do so. If you are a product-based brand, you will need high-quality images of your products. Even if you’re a service-based company, you can get free pictures on Pexels or Pixabay that depict the services you render. This gives a pleasant visual of your brochure. You cant have it all-text. It could be boring for your audience.

In addition to the above pieces of content, you will need an about-us write-up, which describes all your business stands for and why you are in business. This is basically the story behind the establishment of your business. Also, provide details of each product/service you sell/render. Your contact details are essential too. So, provide all the available channels for communicating with your brand; your phone number, email address, social media platforms and every other related link.

Choose a format

Brochure formats include the bi-fold and tri-fold formats. The bi-fold format is one that has a sheet folded in two parts vertically, while the tri-fold format is folded in three parts. Depending on the content volume of your brochure, you can decide on the suitable format to use.

Select a template

There are several templates available now on different software and applications. Some have already designed templates you can choose from and just edit to suit your taste.

It is important that you maintain consistency in your design. Stick to your logo and brand colour palette to achieve this.

Fill in your content

With your design template in place, the next thing is to fill in your content. This stage shouldn’t be difficult, given that you will be working with a template. Add your logo, images and writeups in their appropriate sections and arrange them properly.

After filling in your content, you can download the brochure, depending on the application you are using. I will recommend the Canva application to design your brochure. You can easily edit templates and download them without professional design skills. After downloading, you can go a step further to print several copies of it which you can distribute. Take them to strategic places like hotels and restaurants or anywhere else your potential customers could be.
