Have you ever dipped your hands to fetch something from your makeup bag and withdraw it covered in brown powder and different shades of colours? Well I have, and it wasn’t a sight to behold. As ladies, we reach out for our bags almost, if not everyday. Some of us do that in a hurry to get to work, meet up with classes, go to an event and for other reasons. How annoying is it to have to take an extra minute to wash off the stains on your hand before applying your beauty products?! Your makeup bag should be properly taken care of, as it houses your makeup items. Here are five tips to help in taking care of your makeup bag and end the fear of coloured-hands.
- Getting the right kind of bag.
Makeup bags with plastic linings are easier to clean out and manage. Most times, we ignore the need to wash and dry a cloth made bag because of the inconvenience. Where to keep your products when the bag is washed? The duration it takes to get dry? How prone to stains is it? So, we tend to leave it the way it is, not minding the harm it can cause to our products. Get a makeup bag you can manage, and work towards taking care of it.
- Freeing your makeup bag of all the items it contains.
Firstly, spread them out on a clean towel and gently pick out the items, one by one. Try not to shake off the items from the bag, as it could lead to the damage of any of the beauty products. Your beauty products are fragile, and should be treated as such. After this, get a clean towel and clean each items. Soak the brushes in clean water and spread out to dry, clean the tubes properly and find corners of beauty products to clean. Then, arrange them back inside the bag carefully when dry.
- Only pack items that are useful.
Many of our bags are filled with products we don’t even use anymore. Make sure the items in your makeup bags are essential to you, and not just extras, so as to create enough space for the necessary items to be discovered when needed. Let your beauty products breathe. Say ‘no’ to congested makeup bags. . . and do not pack items without covers, you don’t want to dip your hands into your makeup bag and find all the items soaked, due to an uncovered lip gloss or a broken eye shadow container. Dispose all beauty products without covers and save your bags and hands!
- Be very gentle with your bag.
In a bid to hurry out we might find ourselves carelessly throwing it on the bed, in the car, in our bags, or on tables. This makes for a greater percentage of the stains we encounter in our bags on a regular basis. So make sure to treat your makeup bag the way it deserves to be treated
- Regularly engage these four tips and see the difference it makes. Not only are our makeup products exposed to bacteria when we leave them without proper attention, it can also affect the face, owing to how exposed it is. So put a little more effort in taking care of your makeup bag and see how easier it gets to manage it.
