At exactly 11:58 AM on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, popular Nigerian Gospel singer, Nathaniel Bassey shared a picture on social media with the inscription ‘JESUS’, asking his followers on Instagram and Twitter to make it their profile picture.
The original tweet read: Can we Make this picture our profile picture and tweet at 12 noon? Let’s release this precious ointment over our land and nation. JESUS.
The tweet garnered thousands of impressions within the past few hours, with Christians all over the country and other parts of the world joining the trend by posting the picture with the name of Jesus on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp. ‘Jesus’ and ‘Nathaniel Bassey’ are currently amongst the top trending topics on Twitter in Nigeria.
This particular trend is coming to life years later after Nathaniel started the #HallelujahChallenge in June 2017. The #HallelujahChallenge was repeated in 2020 from 4th to 24th February, and in 2021 from 1st to 21st February.
