Do you have the right mindset? What runs through your mind over time? According to Mahatma Gandhi, ‘A man is but the product of his thoughts, what he thinks, he becomes.’ Definitely, you’ve heard all these before, but let me remind you again.
How to have the right mindset?
- Desire it.
- Change your perception towards failure. ‘Failure is just a resting place. It is an opportunity to begin again more intelligently.’ Henry Ford
- How do you handle failure?
- How do you react in the face of failure?
- Do you fear failure or do you embrace failure as a learning opportunity? Thomas Edison said, ‘I have not failed. I have just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.’
- Increase your risk bearing capacity- risk taking is essential to life’s growth.
- Model/Direct your thoughts after success.
- Do you think big?
- What do you do in the face of challenges?
- Are you an optimist or pessimist?
- Do you have a mentor or role model?
- Seek out problems: successful people look for problems. Every successful person is solving a problem and getting paid for it. Bill Gates, Fela Durotoye, Aliko Dangote, etc. are good examples.
That brings me to the last question: What are you an expert at? What problems are you good at solving? Become a problem solver today. Don’t run away from challenges- behind every problem is an opportunity to be great.
 Start by thinking right.
