  Yiaga Africa is calling on qualified persons to enter the maiden edition of its Turn Up Democracy Challenge. The organization is encouraging applicants to submit a proposal for creative ways to engage policymakers with the aim of solving problems that beset their communities and promoting social cohesion.

Through the Turn Up Democracy Challenge, Yiaga wants to drive civic participation in governance, support youth enterprise, and enable social structures that make for a more prosperous nation. Yiaga will evaluate proposals based on their innovation, inclusiveness, expected results, and project sustainability. It will then award grants to the selected participants with which they will execute projects in their communities.

Eligibility

This program is open to persons who meet the following criteria:
  • Must be a citizen of Nigeria and reside in the country
  • Should be aged between 18 and 25 years
  • Must be a registered voter
  • Be able to attend a 2-day training workshop
  • Note: Women and persons living with disabilities are encouraged to apply
