  Applications are now open for the Visa Africa Accelerator Program 2023 for FinTech startups that primarily serve African markets. If you are building a startup in this industry and you already have a Minimum Viable Product, you should consider applying for a chance to access the many benefits that accrue from this program.

Startups that are admitted into this accelerator will receive mentorship, gain access to cutting-edge technologies, and stand a chance of getting investor funding to further scale their product, reach, and impact. This program will last for 3 months and will expose participants to the tools and opportunities they need to significantly speed up their growth. The accelerator is an initiative of Visa, one of the world’s leading financial services corporations.

Benefits

The Visa Africa Accelerator will benefit participating startups in the following ways:
  • Learn product design, marketing, finance, and other crucial aspects of building a successful venture from world-class experts
  • Be mentored by seasoned and experienced founders and experts from within and beyond the African FinTech ecosystem
  • Have a chance to work with Visa’s products and services, and see how its developer portal functions
  • Get the opportunity to partner with innovative companies and industry leaders
  • Pitch their products on Demo Day, for a chance to get funded by Visa and any of its Venture Capital partners
  • Enjoy over $200,000 worth of product perks and discounts from more than 100 vendors, including Google Cloud and Hubspot

Eligibility

This program is open to startups that meet these conditions:
  • Must be between seed stage and series A, and have at least a Minimum Viable Product (MVP)
  • The product must be market tested and must have gained traction
  • Should be operational in Africa and have plans to expand further on the continent
  • Has to be doing at least one of these things: unlocking new payment flows, embedded finance, empowering merchants and SMEs, enabling payment infrastructure, the future of finance, and sustainable and inclusive finance
