  TransparencIT, a civic tech organization which pushes for social justice and citizen engagement is calling on young people to apply for a place in its Civic Changemakers Fellowship. It says that it has built this program to empower young advocates with the knowledge and skills they need to drive positive change within government and the civil space.

The 3-month long program will feature training, engagement, group work, and networking. It will enable participants to develop solutions that encourage civic participation, deal with governance problems, and support social justice in their communities. The organizer’s aim is to rally a young and passionate army of changemakers who will implement projects that lead to positive transformation in citizen-government relations, governance, and important social issues.

Eligibility

This program is open to persons who meet these criteria:
  • Must be aged between 18 and 35 years at the time they apply
  • Should be resident in Nigeria at the time the program will take place
  • Must be passionate about solving social justice and governance problems in their communities
  • Should be able to write, speak, read, and understand the English language
