TeegeeMusic-comedian, TeeGee Da Unusual — for the comic he brings into his music, is set to give back to the society, with his Da Unusual Foundation, leading a group of celebrities on January 30, to Ikeja Primary School, Lagos. Da Unusual Foundation aims at bringing respite and succour to those in need. This non-profit foundation will on that day give out free medical kits, checkups and treatments, drugs, recommended glasses, stationeries as well as renovate the school. This gesture, according to TeeGee, would not be a one-off as they intend to engage in this visit often touching other schools and institutions that cater for the less privileged. As to what inspired this initiative, TeeGee, whose real name is Tony Maduabuchi Green, said “I suffered as a child, things were very hard, I am a product of the street, I know what my fellow street kids go through. All these inspire me to put smiles on the faces of those that have lost hope.” For Da Unusual Foundation, the resources and expertise needed to pull-off this goodwill visit, consequently, meeting the needs of the school would be sourced from celebrities, corporates and individuals who see a need to invest in the younger generation as well as restore pride to those who have by no fault of their lost hope.Teegee, According to Teegee, we are not asking celebrities for money…though its goona go a long way, we are asking for their presence”. The list of celebrities supporting this noble cause include Alibaba, DJ Jimmyjatt, DJ Humility, 2face, BurnaBoy, Chidinma, Solidstar, Harrysong & Weird MC. Others include Praiz, Yemi Alade, Timi Dakolo, J-Martins, Nedu , Uzo, Igos (Wazobia Fm family),Elenu, Patrick Ellis, MC Abbey and Sotayo. He has been on a radio and television shows with some of these celebrities who have assured their presence on that day. Teegee is hopeful this will trigger the spirit of neighborliness rather than waiting on the government to help those at our doorsteps.
